Mikkie SomaQhuzu(Siyanda Mona) self explained, well articulated, Ambitious and dedicated, one of the prominent mcees who revived hip hop culture in uMthatha, Eastern Cape, Xhosa Song Writer, Rapper with Genuine raps, being Authentic, original and staying true to him self and his craft sets him apart from other musicians,Born and bred in the Eastern Cape, Mthatha, SA on 09 April 1995…but currently lives in Johannesburg, Soweto

EARLY LIFE & MUSIC CAREER

Mikkie started writing Rhymes in 2008 at the age of Thirteen inspired by his cousin brother who use to play Eminem ….due to scarcity of recording Studios in the Town(Mthatha) he started to record In 2014

“Just imagine the collection of songs he wrote for about 6 Years without recording, writing lyrics before getting a beat, it helped him alot ”

“I was soaking & immersing my style of Rap”

In 2011 he moved to his Aunt’s house in kzn(Msinga) where he completed his higher grades…. After matric in 2014 he then moved to Johannesburg, Soweto where he started to record his debut single track titled “Brika Mxhaka”

“Brika Mxhaka / ungas’zeli ngok’Phapha / awubon’ uba alpha k’fik’ impuma kapa”

The song was an anthem in the streets of SA especially in the Eastern Cape & Western Cape…it was featured in so many radio stations including UKHOZI FM (Kasi to 5)….in may 2015 he released his debut EP “IVELILE INTLOKO” that consisted of 6 songs including “Brika Mxhaka”

in 2016 got featured on the number 1 Eastern Cape Local Newspaper “DAILY Dispatch”- (Mikkie- To Rap Around The World In Xhosa
